I always do / I am always doing

This situation is very important and we must not let it go without getting mastery on it.  It is my personal experience that most of the people even the teachers; get confused in using this peculiar situation.

When we use this situation it means that somebody does something every time and it is very much noticeable to others.

But, dear students I recommend that I am always doing somethingshould be used frequently.   See the examples below:

1                                            He is always leaving his food out in the kitchen.
2                                            This couch potato is always watching T.V.
3                                            A boozer is a man, who is always drinking wine.
4                                            Why is she always carping at others pointlessly?

The following verbs are used in present simple tense:

Like                Love                Hate                Want               Need               Prefer
Know              Realize            Suppose          Mean              Understand    Believe            Remember            Belong                        Contain          Consist            Depend           Seem

But:

You look serious.  What are you thinking about?
I am thinking about giving up my job.

Also:

We are enjoying our holidays.  We are having a great time.

The verbs in the following are also used in present simple tense.  See examples below:

                        See                  Hear                Smell               Taste

1          The room smells badly.  Let’s open a window.

2          Do you see the man over there?

We often use Can + see / hear / smell / taste.

Life revolves around learn & practice phenomenon.

Look and Feel

We can use for look and feel present simple or continuous in accordance with the situations.

Now we are proceeding to other fine situation.  It is also wonderful and great in its effect.  Note carefully.

1                    This is the first time I have played tennis
2                    This is the first time I have ridden a horse.
3                    This is the first time I have been to London.
4                    This is the first time I have driven a car.
5                    It is the second time this has happened.
6                    It is the first good meal I have had for ages.
7                    That’s the third time she has phoned me.

You must have noted keenly that after it is the first time something has happened; we have used present perfect tense.

[H1]Dear students don’t take this situation for granted. It is very important.
